On the evening of December 4, information from Ham Thuan Bac Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Police) said that all 20 cars of all kinds stuck at Km41 on Gia Bac Pass had been rescued safely.
At around 4:00 p.m. the same day, tens of hours of effort to dig excavators and clear the scene of landslides and fallen forest trees from Ham Thuan Bac commune to Son Dien commune, the authorities have cleared the road.

After the road was opened, all vehicles stuck at Km41 due to landslides since the afternoon of December 3 have traveled through the landslide site along National Highway 28 down towards Phan Thiet to ensure safety.
According to information from the leader of Son Dien commune, heavy rain lasting from the afternoon of December 3 to noon of December 4 caused more than 10 large and small landslides on Gia Bac pass and many fallen forest trees. The landslide lasted from Km38 to Km54 on National Highway 28, completely paralyzing traffic on this route.
Records of local authorities and functional forces show that most of the landslides on Gia Bac Pass are in Son Dien commune.

After many efforts, there are still many landslides with large amounts of soil and rock that have not been cleared.

Currently, forces are blocking the flow, instructing people not to travel through Gia Bac Pass to ensure safety.
