Warm hearts with free attractions in the countryside of Dong Thap

Dong Thap - A place of charity, where free breakfasts are given away, shared and spread in the community.

When dawn was still upon the trees, the small corners of Tan Phu Trung commune, Chau Thanh district, Dong Thap were bustling with warm laughter. This is a place where volunteers will diligently prepare a heart for students with all their love. They can be retirees, those who have devoted their lives to their families, to society, and now continue to contribute in a simple but extremely meaningful way.

Here, vegetarian dishes are meticulously prepared, the menu changes every day such as nui, congee, salty sticky rice, banh mi, ... to bring deliciousness and quality to the recipient. Despite being busy with family matters, volunteers are still willing to make ingredients such as mother-of-pearl, skin, ham... to ensure food hygiene and safety for users.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh (Tan Hoa Hamlet, Tan Phu Trung Commune, Chau Thanh District, Dong Thap Province) shared: "We work together to motivate everyone to try to make a living, especially for students in difficult circumstances. When I see people reducing some of their burden, I feel happy.

Le Thi Kim Xuan (Tan Quoi Hamlet, Tan Phu Trung Commune, Chau Thanh District, Dong Thap Province) said: "There are many rich dishes here such as mixed-use water spinach, sticky rice, ... any dish that I eat is delicious and saves some of my parents' money. When things are difficult, parents and children also come to eat together".

The Humanitarian Heart Center model was born on the 15th of October 2024 (Lunar calendar), not only a place to provide free breakfast in the countryside but also a place to spread the warmth of people in the context of economic difficulties.

Each morning, there will be about 100 meals handed over. The funding source for this activity was contributed by Mr. Do Tung Lam (Chau Thanh district, Dong Thap province) and local philanthropists.

Mr. Do Tung Lam expressed that based on the practical needs for breakfast of students, while many families in Tan Phu Trung countryside have low incomes, the Center for Humanity model has been initiated. Over time, the model has been trusted by many people and contributed by many benefactors, so it has developed further.

"Supporting parents with a small breakfast not only helps parents reduce their worries about spending but also helps children get sick to school, have more motivation to study, and become good citizens in the future" - Mr. Lam hopes.

Ms. Pham Thi Tuoi, President of the Red Cross Society of Tan Phu Trung commune - acknowledged that this is a humane act, helping parents reduce difficulties on the journey to school, helping patients have a refreshing breakfast to take medicine.

"I see that the women who buy beans come back to blend and season themselves, then come to not using sugar but only sugarcane juice, thereby showing their dedication to the hope of ensuring the health of users, even if it is a delicious free meal" - Ms. Tuoi added.

The Center of Humanitarian Love has been and is lighting up hope for many difficult circumstances in the countryside of Dong Thap. Hopefully, this meaningful model will continue to be maintained and developed, spreading love to the community.
