Giving gifts, giving free medicine
The clinic was organized by the Can Tho City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association and has been in operation since August 2022. Accordingly, regularly every month, the clinic opens twice on Saturday mornings of the 2nd and 4th weeks, serving about 100 patients per session.
According to Dr. Trinh Thi Le Duyen - Head of the clinic, the participating doctors, pharmacists, and nurses are all retired and rotated. They receive examinations for common diseases. For cases that are more severe than possible, the clinic will guide patients to the hospital or introduce them to professional support organizations.

When coming here, patients not only receive free medical examinations and medicine but also receive practical gifts of necessities from benefactors.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Nghia - Vice President of the Can Tho City Charity and Protection of Children's Rights Association - said that to make people happier, at each medical examination, in addition to medicine, the clinic also gives gifts such as bread, spices, etc. The cost of maintaining the program comes from benefactors.
A special point that makes activities here even more meaningful is the rotation of kindness. Mr. Nghia said that many people who had received help at the clinic, when their lives were better, returned to contribute and became new benefactors.
Mr. Huynh Van Tuan - Chairman of the Can Tho City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association, confided: "We believe that this place is not only a place for the poor, but also sows in their hearts faith and kindness. That is the most important thing."
A support for poor workers
For many poor people in Can Tho, this clinic is not only a place for treatment but also a familiar and warm support.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hoa (65 years old, Binh Thuy ward) confided: "Every time I get pain and cough with a fever, I come here. The doctors examined me very carefully and gave me free medicine. Sometimes the uncle and aunt gave me an extra box of milk and a package of cakes, and I felt happy.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chau Au (67 years old, selling lottery tickets on the street) shared: "My income is poor, so I don't dare to think about going to the doctor or buying medicine for money. This clinic is very meaningful for poor workers. Not only did we receive medical examination, but we were also given more packages of cakes or spices, so we were less worried about many things.

In addition to the clinic, currently, the Can Tho City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association is also operating a 1,000 VND kitchen and a 0 VND clothing stall to serve disadvantaged workers.
