Previously, at around 8:30 p.m. on July 20, people discovered a girl wandering on Truong Chinh Street (Dong Thuan Ward) and took her to the Ward Police headquarters. Through verification, the nephew named N.T.L (born in 2010) is of the Bru - Van Kieu ethnic group, residing in Nam Dong commune, Hue city.
L said that he took a bus to Quang Tri to meet an acquaintance online but could not contact him, had no relatives, did not bring money and had to wander around until he was helped.
The child's family is in particularly difficult circumstances, both parents are sick and do not use phones. During their stay at the headquarters, officers and soldiers of the ward police took turns taking care of, encouraging, providing food support, arranging accommodation and contacting the local authorities to bring the child back.
On the afternoon of July 21, L was handed over to his family by Dong Thuan Ward Police in coordination with Nam Dong Commune Police and local authorities. Before leaving, he wrote a letter of thanks to the ward police, expressing his emotion and gratitude for the dedicated care of the officers and soldiers.
Dong Thuan Ward Police also sent their thanks to the people for discovering and helping the child, affirming that the spirit of the People's companionship is a great source of encouragement for the police force to successfully complete the task of "Serving the People".
