I am very proud of this award. Before that, I was quite surprised when the Organizing Committee informed me because I didn't think I would be honored at such a meaningful award" - Ms. Dung expressed.
At the program's closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the "Fire-breaking honor" award to the 15 most outstanding individuals and Ms. Dung was honored to be one of them. In particular, she was also honored in the Top 3 "C Hurricane Interactive Award" with a prize of 30 million VND.
Ms. Dung said that Quang Phu commune is a remote area of Lam Dong province, where most of the people are ethnic minorities, and their lives are still difficult. Therefore, maintaining the student population is always a big challenge for the school.
For nearly 10 years, Ms. Dung has cooked nearly 200,000 free meals for poor students, contributing to keeping them going to school. Not only supporting students in the school, she also connected many benefactors to raise sponsorship funds for more than 90 students in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of more than 1.5 billion VND.
Thanks to that, 7 students have been supported to build houses, many others have been given the opportunity to learn a trade or study at university until they graduate.
Ms. Dung said that she will use the prize money this time to give gifts and buy health insurance for students in difficult circumstances at schools in the locality.
Holding students in school is to protect their future. If I can do anything to help a child not drop out of school, I will try my best, she confided.
