On February 27, Lieutenant Colonel Le Quang Hoa - Head of Ta Rut Commune Police, Quang Tri province - confirmed that a case had just occurred in the area where a child fell into a deep lake and was rescued by police officers in time.
According to initial information, at about 10:30 am on the same day, Captain Ho Van Huynh and Major Ho Van Phu were on duty in Ra Ro village, Ta Rut commune when they discovered Ho Van Suu (born 2024) - son of Mr. Ho Van Doan and Ms. Ho Thi Xam (residing in Ra Ro village) - playing near the deep water lake area of the family.
While playing, the child unfortunately slipped and fell into the lake and showed signs of drowning. At the time of the incident, the lake area was deep and potentially dangerous.
Discovering the child in distress, two police officers immediately rushed into the lake, approached and brought the child ashore safely. Thanks to timely rescue, Ho Van Suu escaped the dangerous situation and his health gradually stabilized.
After initial first aid and checking the baby's condition, the two officers handed it over to the family to continue taking care of and monitoring.
The Police force has reminded families to raise their responsibility in taking care of children, and at the same time have measures to fence and cover the lake area, ensuring safety and preventing unfortunate drowning accidents that may occur.
The child's family expressed their emotion, sent thanks to the police force for timely rescue, and committed to strengthening supervision and implementing drowning prevention measures in the coming time.
