Of which, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital alone received 60 cases. According to Doctor Dang Quoc Quan, Director of the hospital, the number of patients were taken to the scattered areas from noon to the afternoon of the same day. The group of cases were mainly workers of a company in Dong Thanh commune, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to information provided by the hospital, the company's lunch on November 27 includes: fried orange fish with fish sauce, boiled white cabbage, and sour bean sprout soup. After the meal, many people had stomach aches, vomited, and diarrhea and were taken to the hospital for examination.
Of the 60 cases received, 24 patients had to be hospitalized for inpatient monitoring, while 36 cases were stable and were sent home for further monitoring. "The patients are being actively treated, their current condition is temporarily stable," said Dr. Dang Quoc Quan.
The hospital continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to determine the cause and monitor the risk of spread, ensuring safety for local workers and students.
On the same day, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital also said it had received 19 cases (of a high school in Thu Duc ward) suspected of food safety. Of which, there were 2 cases of grade 2 anaphylaxis that were hospitalized for monitoring. The remaining cases have been handled and gradually discharged from the hospital.
The hospitals have reported the incident to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety has also received the information and is handling it.
