Born and raised in Ha Tinh, from a young age, young teacher Luu Hai Nam (28 years old, Tu Liem ward, Hanoi) has had a special love for technology.
That passion has followed teacher Hai Nam throughout his years of studying, which is the motivation for him to study and become a lecturer in Information Technology at Hanoi High-Tech College.
On that journey, the 9X teacher always mentioned the person who had a profound influence on his studies and work, Dr. Kieu Thanh Chung, lecturer at Hanoi High-Tech College. According to Mr. Nam, it was the guidance and orientation of Mr. Chung and the trust and support from teachers and colleagues in the faculty that created conditions for a young person like him to have the opportunity to embark and try his hand at digital technology classes.
Not only dedicated to students, the young teacher also actively participates in educational activities as assigned by the school, one of which is the 45-day-night campaign to support digital transformation activities at the grassroots level implemented by Hanoi City.
With my knowledge of technology, I am very happy to be trusted by the school to assign tasks to communes and wards to share and guide people, especially elderly people, to access basic digital skills," said Mr. Nam.
According to teacher Luu Hai Nam, supporting people in residential areas to access digital skills is a significant challenge. "In wards and communes, there are many elders in residential groups, most of whom are not familiar with technology. Therefore, I always consider them as my parents, coming to class with the mindset of sharing knowledge so that they feel comfortable and not pressured," teacher Nam shared.
In classes with these special "students", teacher Nam chooses to speak slowly, guide gently and perseverely step by step. After each class, he is always ready to stay to support those who have not kept up. Not stopping at live classes, teacher Nam also makes many technology tutorial videos on digital platforms with the desire to attract and reach many different audiences, which can be supplemented for learners to watch at home. For him, the most important thing is not the speed of progress, but the effectiveness it brings to learners.

The content of the classes is built in a practical direction, associated with daily needs; from how to look up information using artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini to operating on the public service portal, VNeID. In addition, the class also has the support and 1-1 tutoring of teachers from Hanoi High-Tech College, aiming to help the elderly use digital technology proficiently, basic functions on phones serving in daily life.
Participating in the class of teacher Luu Hai Nam, Ms. Trinh Thi Hong Van (60 years old, Tu Liem ward, Hanoi) shared that digital skills classes at the facility have helped people in residential groups who are facing limitations in using technology.
One session can have 50-70 participants. Although crowded, Mr. Nam and everyone in the class proactively guide us, thanks to which everyone knows how to use technology such as AI tools, transfer money by phone...", Ms. Hong Van said.
Not claiming to do anything great, but with dedication and patience, young teacher Luu Hai Nam is contributing to narrowing the digital gap, helping technology become closer to the elderly.
With those persistent efforts, teacher Luu Hai Nam was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Committee for individuals in implementing Directive No. 11/CT-UBND on the campaign "45 days and nights of launching to support digital transformation in communes and wards in the early stages of operating the two-level local government model" in Hanoi City.
