On May 17, Quang Tho Ward Police (Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province) said that they had just received a thank you letter from the people for receiving 70 million VND in mistaken money transfers.
Previously, during the transaction process via the banking application, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (born in 2000, residing in Truong Yen commune, Chuong My district, Hanoi) mistakenly transferred 70 million VND to an account under the name of Nguyen Van Diep - a resident of Quang Tho ward, Ba Don town.
Although he proactively contacted Mr. Diep to report the incident, he initially said he had not received the above amount of money because he was worried about being scammed.
In an urgent situation because this was the company's money, Ms. Lan immediately reported to the Quang Tho Ward Police. After receiving the information, the police force quickly verified, contacted Mr. Diep and clarified the incident. Through verification with the bank, it was confirmed that Mr. Diep's account had actually received the money transferred by mistake even though he did not use it regularly.
After receiving support from the police to verify and clearly discuss, Mr. Diep agreed to fully refund the money to Ms. Lan.
Appreciating the sense of responsibility of the police force, especially the timely and responsible participation of the Quang Tho Ward Police, Ms. Lan wrote a letter of thanks to the unit and the Quang Binh Provincial Police.
This is one of the situations that demonstrates the effectiveness of coordination and support for the people in civil incidents that arise, contributing to spreading the image of the police force "serving the people".
