Heavy rain caused flood water from upstream to flow down, causing the water in Xim stream to rise very high, flowing rapidly, causing serious flooding on Provincial Road 521E connecting to the center of Muong Lat district.

According to the representative of Muong Chanh Commune People's Committee, as of the afternoon of September 22, the flood situation is still very complicated. Currently, the 5 upper villages and 4 lower villages of Muong Chanh Commune are temporarily isolated and cannot be traveled.
