Medical staff urgently donate blood to rescue critically ill patients

Lam Dong - Just hearing doctors call for people with the right blood type to save critically ill patients, 2 hospital staff immediately went to bed to donate blood.

On the morning of July 24, leaders of La Gi Regional General Hospital (Lam Dong province) said that two hospital staff volunteered to donate blood urgently to rescue a critical traffic accident patient.

Previously, at noon on July 23, a male patient was brought to the hospital for emergency treatment in a state of multiple injuries, severe blood loss. When the emergency team urgently sought a suitable blood source, doctors called on people with blood type O to support blood donation to save people.

Listening to the call, nurse Le Van Trong (born 1989), working at the Emergency, Intensive Care and Poison Control Department, along with Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien (born 2001), an information technology staff member of the hospital, immediately volunteered to donate blood. Each person donated 250ml of blood to serve emergency work.

The timely blood supply helped doctors maintain the recovery process for the patient. After nearly 3 hours of emergency efforts, the patient showed signs of survival and was urgently transferred to Cho Ray Hospital for further treatment. However, after many hours of emergency treatment at Cho Ray Hospital, the victim did not survive.

According to the leader of La Gi Regional General Hospital, the act of being ready to donate blood by the two medical staff members has made an important contribution to emergency care for patients at a time when blood sources need to be urgently replenished, showing the spirit of responsibility and beautiful gestures of the team of doctors and nurses outside their professional duties.
