When life is shared with whole heart
Organ donation activities are not just medical procedures but a noble journey of human love, where death becomes the beginning of new life sprouts. Ordinary people, with hearts of tolerance, voluntarily register to donate their bodies to medicine, wanting to contribute to life even when their breath has stopped.
A typical example is Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, born in 1965, residing in Luc Si Thanh commune. As a retired worker, he lived simply but his humanistic views made many people admire him.
Mr. Toan said that more than 5 years ago, he quietly completed the procedure for donating his body to medicine. For him, if his body can save people or serve research, that is complete happiness.
What is commendable is that that heart spreads to her life partner. Witnessing her husband's steadfastness, his wife is also preparing to register for organ donation. The consensus of the elderly couple in the riverine countryside is a vivid proof of the saying "giving is forever", turning love between couples into great love for humanity.

Not only in their old age, the younger generation is also imbued with the spirit of organ donation. Mr. and Mrs. Tran Kim Phang, born in 1995, working at Vinh Long Provincial Youth Union, chose their own way to mark the milestone of marriage. In 2021, before getting married, they signed an organ donation petition instead of lavish material gifts.
Mr. Phang confided: "We see this as the most beautiful and meaningful memory for our marriage. Signing the organ donation petition helps us better understand the value of life and responsibility to the community." The decision of the young couple overcomes prejudices, affirming that the young generation is dynamic, living ideally and full of humanity.
Efforts to overcome difficulties to ignite the flow of compassion in Vinh Long
According to Mr. Tu Minh Dien - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, the work of mobilizing organ donation in the area is showing optimistic signs. The whole province currently has nearly 200 volunteers registering for organ and body donation. This is an encouraging figure, reflecting the increasingly positive awareness of the people.
However, mobilization work faces more difficulties than voluntary blood donation. The biggest barrier is customs and habits, many people, even if they wish to donate, face opposition from their families. Propaganda work requires perseverance, sophistication and medical knowledge to correctly explain and avoid misunderstandings about organ trafficking.

Mr. Nguyen Van Be Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that organ donation carries profound humanistic value and great medical significance. A donor's organ after death can save 6-8 people waiting for transplantation, is a miracle in real life, the last hope for end-stage organ failure patients.
Currently, Vinh Long does not have an official Sub-Association to mobilize tissue donation, limiting connection and professionalism. The health sector will coordinate with departments, manage the list of donors and train doctors and physicians to be active propagandists.
Each organ donation petition ignites hope for lives that are gradually fading away. Mr. Toan, Mr. Phang and hundreds of volunteers are like lotus flowers reminding that happiness is knowing how to give away precious things," Mr. Hai added.
