Van Xuan Commune (Tam Nong District, Phu Tho Province) is a commune in the midland mountainous region, directly affected by the circulation of storm No. 3 causing widespread flooding in the northern provinces, causing severe damage. Due to high and fast-flowing river water, at about 10:02 a.m. on September 9, Phong Chau Bridge at km18+300 of National Highway 32C, connecting Tam Nong and Lam Thao districts of Phu Tho Province, collapsed, sweeping away pillar T7 and 2 main spans, spans 6 and 7 on the right bank of Thao River, in Tam Nong District.
To share the difficulties with people directly affected by storms and floods, Green School visited and gave gifts to poor students in difficult circumstances in Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
Ha Quoc Dung - Vice President of Green School - said that Van Xuan is a land rich in tradition, culture, history, geomancy, and outstanding people of the Hung Kings' ancestral land. Mr. Trieu Cong Hoan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Xuan Commune, thanked the members of the Green School and said that the circulation of storm No. 3 had affected 419 students in Tam Nong and Lam Thao districts, Phu Tho province due to the collapse of Phong Chau bridge, causing special difficulties for the lives of local people. The gift from the Green School is an encouragement for students to study hard and understand the meaning of community activities with the mission of protecting the environment, responding to climate change, and combating biodiversity loss of the Green School, joining hands to protect the environment to reduce the impact of natural disasters in the future.
