Starting from cleaning, then "decor
The concept of "old and new" makes general house cleaning a familiar activity every year-end. From wiping tables and chairs, washing curtains, rearranging wardrobe cabinets to cleaning the kitchen area, every small corner is taken care of. A neat and clean house helps the space become brighter, while creating a comfortable mood for members when entering the new year.
Many families choose to replace some old items such as tablecloths, pillow shells, small carpets... to create a fresh feeling without spending too much money.
Few but "true quality" still comes out of Tet
Instead of being densely arranged, the current decoration trend leans towards minimalism, with accents. Just a peach branch, apricot pot or small kumquat placed in the right place, combined with a few spring-colored accessories, the house has a clear Tet atmosphere while still maintaining airiness and modernity.
Many young families said they prioritize selecting decorations, avoiding feeling confused, especially for apartments with not large areas.
Ancestral altar: solemn but not fussy
Cleaning the altar, arranging five-fruit trays, fresh flowers, banh chung, banh tet is done by many families early before Tet. This space is often kept solemn and clean, with neat and balanced arrangements, showing respect and gratitude to ancestors.
Entrance – the first touch of spring
The main door and windows are considered places to "welcome the atmosphere" for the house. Hanging lanterns, New Year greetings, decorative ropes or sticking decals of apricot blossoms and peach blossoms makes the outdoor space more brilliant. With just a few small details, the house has a fresh, spring-filled appearance.

Handicrafts and traditional decorations are popular
Besides ready-made decoration products, many families choose handicrafts or make Tet decorations themselves. This method not only saves costs but also creates opportunities for members to participate and increase cohesion in the last days of the year.
Home decoration during Tet is therefore not about being fussy or expensive, but about the feeling of warmth and reunion. A neat space with a gentle spring highlight is enough for everyone when returning home to clearly feel that Tet is coming very soon.
Living room - a place to keep "spring breeze" for the whole house
The living room is always the most focused area during Tet. Tea tables are neatly arranged, displaying Tet jam, fruits and fresh flower vases just enough to create a cozy feeling. Some families change the arrangement of seats, expand the walkway to make the space airy and convenient for receiving guests.
With just a few small but reasonable details, the living room has become a place of connection and reunion in the first days of the year.
Tet colors: red - yellow but not too much
Red and yellow are still the two main colors in Tet decoration, symbolizing luck and fortune. However, instead of "covering" the space, many people choose to combine these two colors as accents, combined with neutral colors such as white, beige, and wood brown to create balance.
Limiting from two to three main colors helps the overall look more harmonious, avoiding feeling heavy, especially in the common living space.
