Behind, female workers use specialized rakes to level and adjust the hot asphalt concrete layer, helping the road surface to be flat before compacting.The heat from the road surface continuously rises, while the midday sun shines directly, causing workers to quickly lose strength and have to replenish water regularly.Female worker Pham Thi Ngan, residing in Quang Trach commune, Quang Tri province, said that working with hot asphalt in hot sunny weather is very hard. However, if it rains, asphalt paving will have to be temporarily stopped.When the spreading machine is completed in one go, female workers use hot asphalt concrete pellets to add missing positions and correct uneven points on the road surface.At the end of each construction phase, workers take advantage of finding shade to rest, avoiding the harsh sun. Many female workers choose to shelter under concrete sewers or in steel coils to rest, drink water to regain strength before continuing to work.According to female workers, although the steel coils also absorb heat, they are still much cooler than standing in the middle of the road under construction.Mr. Pham Van Van, from Thanh Hoa province, said that workers have to continuously work interspersed with drinking water to avoid losing strength in prolonged hot weather conditions.According to Mr. Ngo Van Thien Lan, Technical Officer of Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company, the contractor has mobilized about 50 workers and 20 types of machinery to construct asphalt pavement, longitudinal culverts and roadbed items.To maintain workers' strength, the contractor arranged for workers to work from 6:30 am to 10:30 am (sometimes starting from 6 am), in the afternoon from 2 pm to 6:30 pm and organize overtime when necessary. In addition to providing drinking water at the construction site, the unit also supports additional funds for workers to cool down and ensure health during construction.
According to representatives of the Project Management Board of Nhat Le 3 Bridge and roads at both ends of the bridge (Quang Tri Provincial Department of Finance), the project has currently reached about 95% of the construction volume.
At the beginning of July 2026, the work of mobilizing the remaining households to hand over the site has been completed and the locality is carrying out handover steps to the investor to implement the final items.
The project is more than 2.8km long, with a total investment of about 1,300 billion VND, implemented in the 2022-2026 period. When completed, the project will connect the two banks of the Nhat Le River, reduce existing traffic congestion, and contribute to completing urban infrastructure and promoting coastal tourism development in Quang Tri.
