The News Publishing House has just published a bilingual photo book "Proud of a Border Strip". The book introduces 150 award-winning and exhibited works from the National Art photography Competition "Proud of a Border Strip" in 2024.
Through the language of photography, the book is a vivid means of propaganda, effectively conveying the message of protecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, building peaceful borders, friendship, cooperation and sustainable development.
At the same time, this is also a cultural bridge, helping international friends better understand the people and land where the Fatherland is bordered, thereby contributing to enhancing the image and position of Vietnam in the international arena.
The national border is a sacred symbol of sovereignty, a space for the survival and development of the Vietnamese ethnic community. The border area not only has strategic value in terms of national defense and security but is also a place to preserve and spread unique cultural values, vividly demonstrating the solidarity and attachment between people and the Fatherland.
In the context of extensive integration, promoting propaganda and raising social awareness of the role of national borders and the responsibility to protect and promote the potential of border areas is a key task to arouse patriotism, national pride, and aspiration for national development, combining national strength with the strength of the times, domestic strength with international strength.
The 3rd National Art Photo Contest "Proud of a Border Strip" chaired by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee (now the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee) is organized in coordination with relevant agencies and units, continuing to affirm the effectiveness of propaganda on sovereignty, territorial integrity and the task of protecting national borders with the profound values of the art of photography.
After 3 seasons of organization, the contest has spread more and more widely, attracting the participation of many professional and amateur photographers across the country.
In 2024, the contest attracted nearly 2,000 authors with more than 14,000 entries, many of which were emotional, vividly reflecting the natural and majestic beauty as well as the unique features of ethnic minorities, depicting the working life, training, and fighting of the army and people in the border areas of the Fatherland.
Thereby, contributing to fostering patriotism, pride in the foundation, the country's position and a sense of responsibility for the homeland among all classes of people at home and abroad.
The contest not only shows the deep interest of art lovers, but is also an activity to concretize Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW, dated September 28, 2018 of the Politburo on "National Border Protection Strategy", contributing to raising awareness of the political system and the whole society in the cause of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty.
