On the morning of June 4 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security - the Ministry of Justice - the Supreme People's Court held an online conference to deploy a plan to launch a 9-day and night peak period to clean up marriage data and implement a reduction in marriage confirmation procedures.
Marriage status is a component of the National Population Database, many public services such as birth registration, marriage registration, divorce settlement, inheritance, death, and property transfer all need this data.
However, currently, confirming the status of marriage is still manual, causing difficulties and inconveniences for people, consuming resources of the State and society.
For example, people who want to register for marriage procedures must go to the place of permanent residence registration to confirm their marital status. Traveling is time-consuming and costly.
The plan is to launch a 9-day and night peak period to clean up marriage data and implement a reduction in procedures for confirming marital status starting from May 31 to August 31.
After this peak period, information about marriage, divorce, and singleness will be updated on the national information system, and displayed publicly and transparently on the VNeID national identification application, with legal value and being authenticated by competent authorities, ensuring high reliability.
When this data is available, people only need to present their ID card, the officer will receive and look up the marital status based on the population database and process it.
Digitalization not only reduces the burden of hardship and costs for people, but also reduces pressure on time and work due to manual handling.
Removing the marriage certificate is a demonstration of the superiority and application of the National Population Database, and at the same time, implemented according to the provisions of Decree No. 87/2020/ND-CP dated July 28, 2020 of the Government on Electronic hociatry Database, online hociatry registration stipulates:
"After the Electronic Civil Servants Database and the National Population Database are put into operation and used nationwide, the agency performing administrative procedures is responsible for connecting with these Databases to determine the marital status of the person who requests to resolve administrative procedures and is not required to submit a marriage certificate".
Cut down on administrative procedures here, e-government here.
And, there are many other procedures that need to be cut, such as notarization, so that people can enjoy a modern and healthy administrative environment.
