According to statistics from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, up to the present time of the Lunar New Year 2025, over 8.6 million union members and workers have benefited from the care activities of the Trade Union organization, with a total budget of over 4,750.5 billion VND.
According to Mr. Phan Van Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the activities to take care of the Lunar New Year 2025 were effectively implemented by the Trade Unions at all levels, ensuring compliance with the direction of the Secretariat in Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated December 11, 2024 on organizing the Lunar New Year 2025 and the motto "All union members and workers have Tet" and according to Plan No. 133/KH-TLD dated September 30, 2024 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
These figures are enough to visualize the scale and effectiveness of policies for workers - from giving gifts, supporting "Union Shelter" houses; "Union Tet markets" (traditional and online), "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Thanks to the Party" to buses, trains, and even flights bringing disadvantaged workers home for Tet.
2024 also recorded great efforts of the Union in supporting union members and workers affected by storm No. 3 in the Northern provinces.
More than 274 cases of injuries, deaths or deaths of relatives, along with nearly 21,000 cases of damaged houses, unroofed roofs, and flooding have received direct and timely attention, with a total amount of nearly 78 billion VND.
Not stopping there, trade unions at all levels have mobilized, donated and transferred to the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee more than 1,128 billion VND, demonstrating a profound spirit of "mutual love".
Celebrating its 95th anniversary and entering the first phase of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has demonstrated its spirit of constant innovation and successfully fulfilled its mission.
The trust and love of millions of union members and workers is becoming increasingly strong, worthy of the position of a strong, humane representative organization that always puts people - union members, workers, and grassroots union officials - at the center of all activities.
The care and sharing work of Trade Unions at all levels in 2024 and early 2025 not only highlights the value of the Trade Union but is also an important premise and launching pad for a united future, where the journey of caring for and protecting workers will continue and spread further.
