Resolution 57 not only sounded the drumbeat urging the entire political system to get involved, but also opened up a promising prospect for removing the "bottlenecks" that hinder development.
The bottlenecks in mechanism, human resources and legal environment are all clearly mentioned. In which, the institution is considered a prerequisite, one step ahead, ensuring that "management thinking must keep up with development".
Besides institutional factors, people are at the heart of every breakthrough. This is also a bright spot in Resolution 57, because to develop science, technology and sustainable digital transformation, a high-quality, creative workforce is indispensable.
Aiming at the goal of rewarding talents, incentive mechanisms to attract leading experts and excellent international students to return and contribute to their homeland are all focused on and specified.
Notably, Resolution 57 also encourages innovation in training models and international cooperation, promoting the development of modern educational programs closely linked to the market and global trends.
With the initiative of many Vietnamese universities, the spirit of "approaching international standards" promises to provide human resources ready to integrate and catch up with cutting-edge technology trends such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, or semiconductor technology.
Of course, to realize these promises, we need more coordinated efforts between ministries, sectors, localities, businesses and the research community. Synchronization from the central to the grassroots level will determine the success or failure in turning commitments into practical actions.
But when political will has been affirmed at the highest level, the policy system is increasingly perfected and the scientific and business communities are gradually becoming more vibrant, we have the right to believe that the trio of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation will become a great driving force for the future.
If Vietnam makes good use of this opportunity, it will not only shorten the development gap with advanced countries, but can also become a leading country in a number of core technology fields.
Looking further, the enormous benefits from Resolution 57 will not only stop at economic growth, but also help improve the quality of life, improve the national position, and at the same time create a solid foundation for the young generation to reach out globally.
This is the expectation and also the great responsibility placed on the shoulders of the entire system, to help Vietnam take off strongly in the digital age.
