The above figures do not represent the whole but also give the reality that workers and laborers at enterprises have not been paid attention to culture and spirit, especially not reading books and newspapers. This could lead to consequences such as many workers falling into a state of lack of official information, limited social awareness, so they have been caught up in scams, black credit, and law violations. Among them, there is a situation of commenting and sharing false and toxic information.
Not reading books and newspapers due to lack of time and access opportunities also reduces the need to study, improve qualifications, and promote the self-reliance of each worker and employee.
Therefore, recently, many Trade Union organizations and enterprises have cooperated to build Trade Union Bookcases. For example, in Hanoi, the Self-management Team of the Workers' Boarding House in Mai Chau village, Dai Mach commune, Dong Anh district, Dong Anh District Labor Federation (Hanoi) has built a Trade Union Bookcase with over 50 books for workers, including books to propagate and disseminate the law, newspapers under the Trade Union system... Or in Ung Hoa (Hanoi), a bookcase with more than 200 books has been placed at Maxcore Company Limited with financial support from the Hanoi City Labor Federation, Ung Hoa District Labor Federation, along with books and newspapers from sponsoring units.
Many similar bookcases have appeared in businesses and in many localities, contributing to improving the knowledge of workers and laborers. However, compared to the demand, there is still a lot of shortage.
The problem is not only "having bookcases" but also maintaining the operation of these bookcases effectively, mobilizing and encouraging workers to participate in reading books and newspapers, creating a widespread movement.
The responsibility of the Trade Union and enterprises is huge in meeting the needs of building cultural life and learning needs of the majority of workers. More bookcases from resources are needed to encourage and develop a reading culture, enhance the value of use, exploit books and legal documents, and raise legal awareness for workers.
This is one of the solutions to speed up the process of intellectualizing workers. Investing in workers is an investment in development, helping workers adapt and keep up with the bustling "turning" of the "stormy" life in the scientific and technological era.
Building Trade Union bookcases contributes to building a sustainable learning society, a practical action in response to lifelong learning.
