The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is consulting with ministries and branches to submit to the Prime Minister a proposal for the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025.
According to the proposal, civil servants and public employees will have Lunar New Year holidays from Saturday, January 25, 2025 to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (December 26, year of the Dragon, to January 5, year of the Snake).
With this plan, civil servants and public employees will have 9 days off for Lunar New Year 2025 (including 5 days off for Lunar New Year and 4 days off every week).
This plan will create conditions for workers to have more time to rest and enjoy during the Lunar New Year. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to stimulate domestic tourism, when workers have a longer Tet holiday than usual.
With the above proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministries need to have opinions to submit to the Prime Minister, to have a decision as soon as possible.
Learning from experience, during the recent April 30 holiday, many travel companies regretted that the 5-day holiday was "finalized" just 2 weeks before the holiday, so they did not develop plans to attract tourists, and workers did not proactively plan their vacations, losing a good opportunity to stimulate tourism.
If the Prime Minister agrees to the plan to have 9 days off for Lunar New Year this year, workers will have plans to take a holiday, go home, and travel.
Airlines, trains, and buses plan transportation, sell tickets, and serve passengers traveling during Tet in accordance with the 9-day holiday.
Tourism and service businesses have business plans, launch new products to the market, and attract tourists. To produce new tourism products, investment time is needed, and rushing cannot achieve quality.
Please note that with the long Tet holiday, domestic tourism will have to compete with foreign tours. Therefore, localities and tourism businesses must prepare well, introduce unique products, and reasonable prices, to be able to win the "market share" of Tet.
Don't let it happen that during the Lunar New Year holiday, people travel abroad, which is no different than stimulating tourism in your country.
For business establishments and enterprises, they can proactively develop production plans, depending on the conditions of each enterprise, creating conditions for workers to have longer Tet holidays, in accordance with the vacation time of civil servants and public employees.
