The Prime Minister's adjustment of the time and requirement to complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before August 31, 2025, instead of before October 31, 2025 and before that, at the end of 2025, is of great significance.
That is a humane mark in management, and at the same time a vivid demonstration of the way the government speaks in combination with actions, mobilizing the entire political system and community to act together for a common goal: no one is left behind.
In a short time alone, nearly 263,000 houses nationwide have been temporarily and dilapidated, of which more than 225,000 have been inaugurated.
That number is a testament to the ability to operate centrally, coordinate smoothly, and especially put people at the center of policy action.
Currently, up to 38 localities nationwide have completed the task of eliminating temporary houses early - an increase of 23 localities in just one and a half months after the fourth Steering Committee meeting.
This shows that when the policy is correct, the Government acts resolutely and is trusted by the people, the seemingly difficult things can still be completed ahead of schedule.
It can be said that the phrase Party heart, peoples heart has never been expressed so clearly, especially in humanitarian projects, targeting the most vulnerable people such as eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.
The elimination of temporary houses is also proving that the participation of the entire political system, from ministries, local governments, the army, the police to the Fatherland Front, associations and unions... with the spirit of "whoever has something helps others, whoever has merits helps others, whoever has property helps others, whoever has a lot helps a lot, whoever has little helps a little" is promoting the effectiveness beyond expectations.
This is also a lesson in a campaign organized with clear goals, progress, inspection and supervision, and especially clear commitments. As the Prime Minister emphasized: " what has been said must be done, what has been committed must be done, and must have specific results".
From now until August 31, there is not much time left. But with the current situation, the consensus and determination from the Government to the people, this goal, as Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien said, is completely feasible.
Complete and complete the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses soon, not just to build or repair a roof, but as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said: "A shelter built, a love left behind, a road to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty opened up, people are grateful to the love of the nation and compatriots, that is the most noble reward for us".
And that is also the sustainable foundation for national development.
