Stroke (cerebral vascular complications) is the leading cause of death and disability in the world. According to the American Stroke Association, about 80% of stroke cases can be prevented if warning signs are detected early.
1. Mouth problems or facial paralysis
When laughing, one side of your mouth is crooked and asymmetrical. This is an early sign that the brain is damaged in the facial control area.
2. Weakness or paralysis of one limb
Suddenly feeling weakness in your left hand or leg, difficulty grasping, or unable to walk is a clear sign of cerebral anemia.
3. Speaking difficultly, speaking assortedly, not understanding words
Patients may speak in a low voice, converse in a low voice, or do not understand what others are saying. This is a sign that the language area in the brain is affected.
4. Severe headache, dizziness, loss of balance
The sudden, unusual headache, accompanied by dizziness, nausea, and temporary loss of consciousness is a dangerous warning that requires immediate emergency calls.
Remember the FAST rule: Face ( distorted face), Arm (weak arm), Speech (difficult to speak), Time (golden time for emergency care - call 115 immediately).
