Replace water with carbonated or sweet drinks
Many young people criticize the lack of filtered water, so they often replace it with soft drinks, milk tea, energy drinks... However, these drinks often contain high sugar content, especially fructose - a sugar that when entering the body can be converted into purines, increasing uric acid, thereby causing kidney damage, long-term leading to kidney failure.
Practice the habit of drinking enough filtered water (1.5-2 liters/day), especially during exercise or hot weather.
Not controlling blood pressure
High blood pressure is one of the leading causes of chronic kidney disease. If the patient does not take medicine regularly, eats without controlling salt, fat or is sedentary, blood pressure can remain high for a long time, causing damage to blood vessels in the kidneys.
People with a high risk ( family history, obesity, lack of exercise) should measure blood pressure periodically, eat healthy, exercise regularly and follow the correct treatment regimen.
Lazy to mobilize
Lack of exercise not only causes overweight but also slows down metabolism, reducing the ability to detoxify the kidneys, increasing the burden on this organ. In the long run, this can lead to damage to kidney function.
We should spend at least 30 minutes a day walking, light exercise, yoga or any form of exercise that suits you.
Obesity but no weight loss
Obesity not only increases the risk of diabetes and high blood pressure, two major factors causing kidney damage, but also causes inflammation and metabolic disorders in the body. If weight is not controlled, the risk of kidney failure will increase over time.
Maintain BMI at a healthy level (18.5-23) with a balanced diet and regular exercise. If there are signs of metabolic diseases, treatment should be done early to protect the kidneys.
