Pineapple
Pineapple should not be eaten with shrimp because it contains enzymes that break down protein and is highly acidic, easily causing stomach irritation, abdominal pain, diarrhea or allergies. Vitamin C in pineapple can also react with some compounds in shrimp. It is best to eat pineapple at least 4 hours after eating shrimp, and pineapple should be soaked in salt water before eating.
Rose
Roses contain a lot of tannins, when combined with protein in shrimp, they will form an indigestible compound, causing bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and even forming stomach stones. The greener and darker the roses, the higher the risk. Roses should be eaten 4-6 hours before meals with shrimp.
Oranges (and citrus families)
Vitamin C in oranges can convert some arsenic compounds in shrimp into more toxic forms if eaten a lot or for a long time. In addition, the high acidity of oranges easily irritates the digestive tract when eaten with shrimp. Oranges should be eaten 2-3 hours after eating shrimp.
Pomegranate
Pomegranate also contains tannins, which are easy to combine with protein in shrimp, creating indigestion, causing bloating and diarrhea, especially for people with weak stomachs. It is best to eat pomegranate and shrimp separately.
Grapes
Grapes are rich in organic acid, which can react with protein in shrimp, causing indigestion and bloating. Cold grapes are even more likely to cause digestive disorders. Grapes should be eaten at least 3 hours after shrimp meals.
