What is a rotation of eating seeds according to the menstrual cycle?
This method divides the menstrual cycle into two phases and uses nuts suitable for each phase to support natural hormone production:
From day 1 to 14 (first cycle): Eat pumpkin seeds and flax seeds, two seeds rich in zinc and lignan, which help support the production of estrogen, the hormone mainly used during this period.
From the 15th to the 28th (royal period): Eating sunflower seeds and chia seeds helps increase progesterone levels, an important hormone in the second half of the cycle.
These nuts contain omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, zinc and plant active ingredients that help balance hormones naturally, says nutritionist Bharathi Kumar, working at Fortis Hospital (India). When you eat alternately according to your cycle, your body can better regulate hormones like estrogen and progesterone.
Supporting effects have been noted
According to a study published in the Journal of Food, Science & Nutrition, taking turns eating nuts like the above helps reduce symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), supports ovulation and regulates menstruation in women. Some people also notice improved skin, more stable mood, and a healthier digestive system.
This is not a treatment for all diseases, but many women, especially those who have undergone endocrine treatments such as IVF, feel their bodies recover faster when eating the seeds properly, says Dr Nishi Singh, an expert in reproductive hormones in India.
Foods that women take on by cycle cannot replace medicine, but are a way to help women proactively take care of their hormones from their daily meals. It shows a deep connection between nutrition and hormones, and affirms that eating properly, at the right time, is a gentle but effective form of therapy.
