On May 4, the leader of the National Children's Hospital said that the hospital received and performed emergency surgery on a 4-year-old patient M.T.A, residing in Thanh Loi commune, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province, who was seriously injured by a homemade three-wheeled vehicle.
The patient was transferred to the National Children's Hospital from Nam Dinh General Hospital on the evening of May 3, in a very serious condition.
Upon receiving, the doctors conducted examination, subclinical tests and computerized tomography. The results showed that the baby had a closed abdominal injury, tearing the left diaphragm causing the stomach and intestines to the chest, stamping the kidney level 3, stamping the small intestine and the hematoma after the peritoneal.
Facing a critical condition, the child was taken to the operating room in the night. The surgical team has carried out the stitching of the diaphragm that is torn, removes the intestinal segment and connects the intestine, and preserves the kidneys and closely monitors the postoperative situation.
Currently, the patient's health is not stable, it is necessary to closely monitor and conduct additional tests to determine whether there is bleeding or any other damage, the prognosis is still reserved.
On May 4, the Nam Dinh Provincial Department of Health said it had received a quick report from the Provincial General Hospital regarding the incident of being reported as having to "pay full hospital fees to receive emergency care" for patient M.T.A (4 years old) in a traffic accident.
According to the report, at around 4:03 p.m. on May 3, the child was taken to the emergency room in a state of alertness, with scratches. Even though he had not paid and registered for examination, the patient was still examined by doctors, prescribed paraclinical tests and given emergency care. At 5:45 p.m., the patient was transferred to the National Children's Hospital.
The hospital confirmed that no employee said " pay enough money for emergency care". The person who takes the patient temporarily only pays 500,000 VND and is not required to advance. Administrative exchanges can cause video campers to misunderstand.
The Department of Health requires the Provincial General Hospital to seriously rectify the on-duty work, review the emergency procedure and strictly handle if violations are detected.
However, Mr. H.T.T (Nam Dinh City), who took M.T.A to the emergency room, confirmed that his reflection was true. He said he took the seriously injured child to Nam Dinh General Hospital on the afternoon of May 3, but was asked to pay the full amount for the examination even though he only brought 500,000 VND.
