The Ministry of Health responds to the scope of practice of preventive doctors

    The Ministry of Health has just responded and provided information on regulations on medical examination and treatment according to the approved scope of practice.

    Sending a question to the Ministry of Health, reader N.N.T.V said: "I am a preventive medicine doctor with a license to practice preventive medicine, currently working at a medical center with a general clinic.

    May I ask, can I receive internal medicine examination and treatment with health insurance payment at the General Clinic Line 3? ".

    Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:

    Currently, people with the title of preventive medicine doctor will be granted a practice license within the scope of preventive medicine when they are qualified.

    For this scope, the specific content for the technical categories allowed for implementation is clearly shown in Appendix 7 of Circular No. 32/2023/TT-BYT dated December 31, 2023 of the Minister of Health.

    Medical examination and treatment are based on the scope of practice approved by the practitioner.
