Pomegranate is a fruit grown in many localities and is increasingly popular in Vietnam. With its light sweetness and easy-to-eat taste, pomegranate is also a source of many antioxidant compounds that are beneficial for health.
Pomegranates contain high levels of polyphenols, especially punicalagin - a compound with strong antioxidant properties. These substances can help reduce inflammation and limit cell damage caused by free radicals.
The liver is the organ responsible for metabolizing many substances in the body. When oxidative stress increases, liver cells may be affected.
Supplementing with antioxidant-rich foods like pomegranates can help protect the liver within the framework of a healthy diet.
According to experts, pomegranates are not a medicine to treat liver disease. However, plant compounds in this fruit can bring certain benefits to liver health.
In addition, pomegranates also provide vitamin C, potassium and many essential nutrients for the body.
