This salon regularly advertises weight loss and "fat removal" services using traditional, scientific, and safe medical methods, so it attracts quite a lot of customers even though it is just a small spa.
Introducing herself as someone who wants to lose weight for Tet, Ms. Hoa made an appointment with reporters to come to the facility on Luong Van Can Street, Ha Dong District to consult on services. With a commitment to lose weight completely using traditional medicine, painless, absolutely safe, each weight loss treatment at this spa costs 8 million VND.
"If you do it alone, the service fee is 8 million VND, but if both of you do it together, I will give you a friendly price of only 6.5 million VND/person. My family lost weight completely using non-invasive traditional medicine methods, with no complications," said Ms. Hoa.
To reassure customers, Ms. Hoa invited reporters to the 2nd floor to directly see the machines and weight loss technology being used.
In the small attic of the ground-floor house, besides some trophies and certificates that Ms. Hoa said were displayed for prestige, there were only a few shampoo beds and a 9th generation bioelectric machine - considered the key to weight loss for customers.

Combining bioelectric machines is not a traditional medical method.
Speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of the Department of Traditional Medicine Management (Ministry of Health) affirmed that some cosmetic facilities, when treating weight loss with acupressure, often combine it with some types of machines such as body sculpting machines and bioelectric machines, which are not traditional medical methods. The Ministry of Health has not licensed this treatment method in oriental medicine.
The representative of the Department of Traditional Medicine Management also informed that currently, many beauty salon owners are not properly trained in traditional medicine, but still teach their students or receive vocational training, which is very dangerous.
Therefore, the Department of Traditional Medicine Management recommends that customers must choose a facility that is qualified to operate, has a practice license, and is trained in traditional medicine according to regulations.
