On May 8, the People's Committee of Thang Binh district (Quang Nam province) issued an urgent dispatch requesting localities and functional units to focus on inspecting and drastically implementing measures to prevent and control rabies in animals, especially in Binh Trung commune - where dangerous rabies virus infections have just been recorded.
According to a report from the Thang Binh District Medical Center, Mr. P.V.D's family (residing in Vinh Xuan village, Binh Trung commune) is raising 7 dogs in their home area, all of whom have not been vaccinated against rabies and have not been in contact with dogs outside.

However, on April 26, some dogs showed unusual symptoms such as anorexia, vomiting, red eyes, watery and severe adenoid. The sick dog then bit Mr. D and his wife and two other dogs in the herd.
Immediately after the incident, the victims went to the District Medical Center for preventive treatment and declared according to regulations. The samples were sent for testing and tested positive for the rabies virus.
In the face of the above situation, the People's Committee of Thang Binh district requested the People's Committee of Binh Trung commune and other communes and towns to strengthen propaganda and inspection of rabies vaccination on cat dogs, strictly handle cases that do not comply with regulations on raising and keeping dogs and cats in public, not muzzling, not vaccinating...
This is a warning about subjectivity in preventing rabies - a disease with a nearly absolute mortality rate if not treated promptly.
