Hue City Department of Health said that as of 7:00 AM on September 14th, there were 201 suspected food poisoning cases related to the collective kitchen at Scavi Hue Company.
Among these, Phong Dien Medical Center received 22 patients, Hue Central Hospital facility 2 received 179 patients. Cases with symptoms of fever, abdominal pain, vomiting,...; were initially diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis, suspected food poisoning.
To date, 32 patients have been discharged from the hospital, and 169 people continue to be treated and monitored at two medical facilities. The health of the patients is currently temporarily stable.
Hue City Department of Health is coordinating with relevant agencies to continue investigating and verifying the cause; and taking specimens and food samples to serve testing.
Notably, the Department of Health has suspended the business of catering services at the collective kitchen of Scavi Hue Company, under Hue Thanh One Member Limited Liability Company. This is a unit granted Certificate of eligibility for food safety No. 41/2026/ATTP-CNĐK.
During the time the kitchen was suspended, Scavi Hue Company was requested to have solutions to provide meals for employees, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Phong Dien Ward People's Committee is assigned to coordinate with the Department of Health and relevant units to supervise the compliance with the suspension; and at the same time strengthen inspection and supervision of food service business establishments in the area.
Phong Dien Medical Center and Hue Central Hospital, facility 2, continue to monitor and treat patients and coordinate with the Department of Health in the process of determining the cause of the incident.
Scavi Hue Company is responsible for supporting workers who are being treated, monitoring workers' health, coordinating to investigate the causes and implementing food safety measures in the coming time.
The case is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
