More than 5,300 cases, 3 deaths
On July 23, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province announced that it had issued Document No. 11931/UBND-KGVX requesting departments, branches, and localities to strengthen the prevention and control of Dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease, and synchronously implement disease control solutions.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health, from the beginning of the year to now, the whole province has recorded 2,285 cases of Dengue hemorrhagic fever, an increase of 9.7% compared to the same period in 2025. Among them, there are 57 severe cases and 1 death.
For hand, foot and mouth disease, the whole province recorded 3,076 cases, an increase of 1,622 cases compared to the same period last year and there were 2 deaths.
Faced with the complicated developments of the epidemic, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, agencies, branches and localities to drastically implement prevention and control measures to prevent the epidemic from breaking out on a large scale.
The Department of Health is assigned to closely monitor epidemiological developments, strengthen surveillance in high-risk areas and old outbreaks; promptly detect and thoroughly handle cases, and proactively forecast the situation to advise on appropriate solutions.

Public and private medical facilities must strictly implement the diagnosis, treatment, referral, and referral procedures; ensure timely admission and treatment, minimizing cases of severe progression and death.
Strengthening epidemic prevention from the grassroots level
The Provincial People's Committee requests the health sector to review and ensure sufficient medicines, chemicals, supplies, equipment, hospital beds and personnel to serve epidemic prevention and control; and at the same time strengthen professional training for health officials and epidemic surveillance forces in the community.

Along with professional measures, communication work is identified as a key task to raise people's awareness of disease prevention and control.
For dengue fever, people are advised to regularly clean the environment, remove objects containing stagnant water, kill larvae and pupae, and coordinate with functional agencies in spraying chemicals to kill mosquitoes.
For hand, foot and mouth disease, the health sector recommends that people practice good personal hygiene, wash hands regularly with soap, and clean houses, toys, and children's household items.

The Department of Education and Training is assigned to coordinate with the health sector to promote propaganda in schools; guide students and parents to recognize early signs of the disease, and implement epidemic prevention measures at school and in families.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations to mobilize people to actively participate in environmental sanitation and disease prevention.
For communes, wards and Phu Quy special zone, the Chairman of the grassroots-level People's Committee is fully responsible for the work of preventing and controlling dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease in the area.
Localities proactively develop response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto, organize environmental sanitation campaigns, kill larvae and pupae in residential areas, especially in places where cases have appeared or are at high risk.

According to the health sector, the rainy season is a favorable time for dengue fever transmitters to develop, while hand, foot and mouth disease is also at risk of increasing in children.
Therefore, proactively implementing disease prevention measures right from the grassroots level is considered an important factor to prevent the spread of epidemics in the community.
