Implementing Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo on strengthening the protection, care and improvement of people's health, and at the same time implementing the Prime Minister's direction on deploying free health check-ups for the whole population in 2026, the Dien Bien Health sector has deployed free health check-up and consultation activities for people from April 25, 2026 and maintained regularly every month, at least 2 days/month.
Mr. Pham Giang Nam - Director of Dien Bien Department of Health - said that in order to accelerate the work of free health check-ups and consultations for people, in 2 days, May 30 and 31, the health sector has strengthened 403 health officials for health stations and station points, of which the provincial level supported 64 people, and health centers supported 339 people.
We have promoted propaganda in many forms, including requesting residential groups and villages to inform people about medical examination plans. In particular, the Department prioritizes sending highly qualified doctors from the provincial level directly to the grassroots level to examine people" - Mr. Nam emphasized.

According to statistics from the Department of Health, in the 2 days of May 30-31, there were 11,973 people who received free health check-ups. Among them, 21 cases were indicated for inpatient treatment, 778 cases were treated outpatiently or prescribed treatment, 11,174 people were examined and consulted for health and then returned for community monitoring.
Thus, as of the end of May 31, nearly 80,000 people have had free health check-ups (accounting for about 12% of the province's population).
In the early days of implementation, the health sector focused on prioritizing vulnerable groups such as elderly people aged 60 and over, poor households, near-poor households, people with meritorious services to the revolution, people with disabilities and people who have not participated in health insurance.
For communes and wards near the Health Center or hospital, people are allowed to be examined at the Department of Medical Examination of the unit.
For remote and isolated communes with difficult transportation, the health sector has directed the establishment of mobile examination teams to go to health stations, schools or village cultural houses to serve people.
