Improving welfare, protecting jobs
According to the plan, the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress will take place in 3 days, from June 3 to June 5, 2026, at the National Convention Center with 780 delegates.
The delegation of Dien Bien Provincial Trade Union attending the Congress included 7 delegates; Comrade Tan Minh Long - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation as Head of the delegation.
Before the Congress, at agencies, units, and factories in the province, the atmosphere of labor and production emulation is taking place sôi nổi. Along with that are the thoughts and expectations of officials, union members and employees.
Directly working in production, Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy - a worker at Dien Bien Environment Joint Stock Company, hopes that the Trade Union organization will continue to have more practical solutions to protect jobs and income for workers.
I want to work in a safe and stable environment, fully participate in social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance and receive more attention to cultural and spiritual life.
At the same time, we expect the Trade Union to promote union member welfare programs, housing support, health care and improve skills so that employees can feel secure and stick with the business for a long time" - Ms. Thuy said.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Chairman of the Trade Union of Dien Bien Cement Joint Stock Company expects that the 14th Congress will propose many breakthrough solutions to enhance the position and role of the Trade Union organization in the new situation.
Mr. Hoa emphasized that it is necessary to continue to improve the mechanism of representation and collective bargaining to protect the legitimate rights of workers. In particular, it is necessary to focus resources on paying attention to workers in remote, isolated, and particularly difficult areas.
Accompanying union members in special industries
For occupations such as Healthcare and Education, workers expect the Trade Union organization to have timely support policies both materially and spiritually.
Doctor Bui Hong Ha - Deputy Director, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Tuan Giao Health Center - said that the health sector always works with high intensity, shouldering the responsibility of taking care of people's health.
Dr. Ha expects: "The Congress will pay attention to and propose practical policies to improve working conditions and welfare regimes for medical staff. In particular, the Trade Union will have more programs to care for mental health, support union members in difficult circumstances and promptly encourage typical individuals".
In the field of education, Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Linh - Trade Union member of Dien Bien College expressed that the Trade Union organization will accompany union members in training, fostering professional skills and applying digital technology. At the same time, it will widely launch emulation movements for innovation in teaching and research.
One of the issues that grassroots trade union officials are concerned about in the new term is digital transformation and organizational arrangement.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Nhung - Chairman of Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union acknowledged that in the context that the whole country is promoting the arrangement of the organizational structure and streamlining the political system, the Trade Union organization needs to strongly innovate in terms of content and methods of operation.
Mr. Nhung expected: "The Congress will propose specific policies to strengthen the application of digital technology in union member management, quickly grasp the thoughts of employees. At the same time, it is necessary to improve the quality of grassroots trade union officials, to truly be a reliable bridge between the Party, the State and union members".
