On October 24, Mr. Tran Kiem Hao - Director of the Hue City Department of Health directly inspected and grasped the flooding situation at a number of medical facilities affected by storm No. 12 and prolonged heavy rain in the area. At the same time, he visited and encouraged the medical team, directed the recovery work, and ensured that medical examination and treatment activities took place safely and continuously.
Due to the impact of heavy rain after storm No. 12 combined with high tides, many localities in Hue City were deeply flooded; some medical facilities were flooded with ground floors, roads were cut off, making it difficult to move staff, patients and vehicles.
Despite the severe impact of the weather, the entire health sector still strictly maintains the 24/24 emergency care regime, ensuring safe admission, treatment and transfer; preventing patients from being interrupted in treatment. Medical facilities have proactively moved equipment, records, medical supplies and arranged safe places for patients, minimizing damage.
At Phu Ho Commune Health Station - one of the areas deeply flooded during this storm, the Director of the Department of Health directly inspected and encouraged the medical staff on duty to respond to floods.
Mr. Tran Kiem Hao, on behalf of the working group, presented supportive necessities, praised the sense of responsibility and perseverance of the grassroots medical staff in harsh weather conditions.
Mr. Tran Kiem Hao emphasized that medical staff need to absolutely ensure the safety of patients and themselves; proactively move records, medicine, and equipment to high positions, and be ready to respond when people need help.
According to statistics from the Hue City Department of Health, from 7:00 a.m. on October 21 to 7:00 a.m. on October 24, 2025, medical facilities under the department are treating 4,818 inpatients.
72 patients are being treated at the Resuscitation - Emergency Department; 1,407 patients in other departments.
