Ingredients
- 500g just ripe plums
- 1 yellow orange (choose with fragrant peel)
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 150g sugar (can be adjusted to taste)
- 1.5 liters of filtered water
- ice cubes, a few slices of oranges or fresh plums for decoration
How to do
- Wash the plums, remove the seeds, cut into areca bags. Wash the orange, peel the thin part, avoid the white part to avoid bitterness. Wash cinnamon with hot water to remove dust.
- Add the plums to the pot with the sugar, orange peel and cinnamon, marinate for about 30 minutes to let the plums absorb the sugar and drain the water. Then, pour 1.5 liters of filtered water and place on a lightly boiled stove for 15 - 20 minutes. During the cooking process, stir gently to leave the plums soft but not broken.
- When the mixture cools, strain the plum, orange peel and cinnamon. The cup of tea collected has a pinkish red color, light sweetness, and the characteristic aroma of ripe plums mixed with orange and cinnamon essential oil.
- Pour the tea into a jar, let it cool completely and then store in the refrigerator. When serving, add ice cubes, decorate with a few slices of fresh oranges or thinly sliced plums to enhance flavor and aesthetics.
Note
- You can use sugar syrup or honey instead of refined sugar if you want a slight natural sweetness.
- Choose a vuaeur plum with firm skin and no pressing to keep it fresh.
- The tea can be stored cold for 2 - 3 days.
- Pime tea is not only a refreshing drink but also aids digestion and provides vitamin C to the body, especially suitable for both adults and children on hot summer days.
