Determining the importance of in-depth treatment of stroke for patients, from April 1, 2021, Khanh Hoa General Hospital has established a Stroke Unit under the Department of Neurological General Internal Medicine.
Up to now, in response to urgent needs, Khanh Hoa General Hospital has decided to officially separate the Stroke Unit to establish a Stroke Department with a staff of 20 beds, 6 doctors, 4 nurses and 1 family physician.

According to Dr. CKII Pham Cong Nhut - Head of the Stroke Department, with the increasing rate of patients and the time to rescue patients urgently, the establishment of the Stroke Department is very important to help patients access and intervene early when they have an attack.

Currently, the rate of stroke related to cerebral infarction accounts for a high proportion. Dr. Nhut also recommends that the best first aid for patients with stroke symptoms is to leave the patient lying on the stomach, call the nearest medical facility for emergency care.
