Many diseases "attack" young people
In recent days, the Southern provinces have experienced many unseasonal rains. According to the forecast of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in the remaining days of the 2025 dry season, from now until mid-April, the region will continue to have many unseasonal rains with widespread rain lasting for a few days.
According to Dr. Tran Dac Nguyen Anh - Head of the Department of Required Examination - Children's Health, Children's Hospital 2, unseasonal rain in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces and cities can affect children's health.
wet weather creates favorable conditions for viruses and bacteria to grow, children are susceptible to respiratory diseases such as sore throat, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Children with a history of asthma can get worse.

Sudden changes in weather make children susceptible to viruses that cause colds and flu with symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose.
In addition, high humidity increases the risk of skin inflammation, skin rashes, rem nay and skin fungus. Children are susceptible to skin irritation and hives due to weather allergies.
Unseasonal rain can make children susceptible to intestinal infections, diarrhea, and food poisoning.
Notably, rain accumulates water, creating a favorable environment for barley mosquitoes to breed, increasing the risk of dengue fever. High humidity also increases hand, foot and mouth disease due to the virus spreading rapidly in humid conditions.
According to Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh Chau - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, dengue fever has tended to increase very high since the beginning of the year. The worrying thing is that in recent days, Ho Chi Minh City has experienced very large amounts of unseasonal rain. Early unseasonal rain will cause more mosquitoes to appear.
Ensuring children's health
Doctor Nguyen Anh recommends that when children have symptoms of fever, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, parents should take their children to a pediatric facility for timely examination.

Parents should note not to self-treat children at home, especially children under 3 months old when having a fever that need to be examined immediately. To ensure children's health, parents should keep their children warm when the weather turns cold. Ensure adequate nutrition to increase resistance.
At the same time, fully vaccinate children against influenza, especially children under 5 years old. Limit children from playing in rainwater, avoid wearing wet clothes for long periods.
Carry a mask when going to public places or limit going out if not necessary. Clean personal hygiene, wash your hands regularly, and eat hygienically. Pay attention to killing mosquitoes, flip-off water containers to limit the breeding of mosquito larvae.
