Border guards support mother giving birth amid floods in Quang Tri

Quang Tri - The mother could not go to the hospital to give birth because the road was cut off due to floods, the border guards promptly supported the mother to have her child in the square.

On the morning of October 30, at the Pa Ling Military-Civilian Medical Station (ta rot Commune, Quang Tri Province), the Military-Civilian Medical Station of A Vao Border Guard Station successfully supported the pregnant woman Ho Thi Chon (born in 2004, residing in Pa Ling village) to give birth to a 3.3kg son.

Previously, on the evening of October 29, the 36-week pregnant woman Chon showed signs of labor. The family planned to take him to the Dakrong Medical Center, but due to prolonged heavy rain, the spillways were deeply flooded, and traffic was cut off, so he could not move.

Discovering the incident, local officers and military doctors of the A Vao Border Guard Station mobilized the family to take the mother to the Pa Ling military-civilian medical station. After examination and detecting signs of difficulty giving birth, the unit coordinated with staff from Dakrong Commune Medical Center to prepare means and support forces when necessary.

At 7:30 a.m. on October 30, the mother showed signs of giving birth, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Vu and Major Hoang Kim Bac directly supported the birth. The baby boy was born safely, and the health of the mother and child is stable.
