The number of cases of severe dengue fever in Tay Ninh increased 4.7 times

Tay Ninh - From the beginning of July 2025 to now, the number of dengue fever cases in Tay Ninh province has begun to increase and is expected to continue to increase.

According to the Center for Disease Control of Tay Ninh province, in the last week, the whole province recorded 244 cases of dengue fever (187 inpatients, 57 outpatients), down 25% compared to the previous week (325 cases), but still 4.7 times higher than the same period in 2024 (52 cases). Of these, there were 5 severe cases, down 4 cases compared to last week but up 3 cases compared to the same period.

Meanwhile, since the beginning of the year, the whole province has recorded 3,901 cases of dengue fever, including 3,015 inpatients and 886 outpatients, an increase of 3.7 times over the same period last year 1,037 cases. The number of severe cases alone was 104 cases, an increase of 4.7 times over the same period (22 cases). The number of inpatients increased by 49% compared to the average period of 2016 - 2020 (2,025 cases).

Notably, since the beginning of the year, Tay Ninh province has not recorded any deaths from dengue fever.

Faced with the complicated developments of the epidemic, the health sector of Tay Ninh province has synchronously deployed many measures to prevent and control epidemics in all localities, not only concentrating in areas with high cases. In particular, key activities such as organizing a large-scale lentil destruction campaign, assessing insect indexes at outbreaks and spraying mosquito repellent in densely populated areas.

Currently in the rainy season, the risk of epidemics is increasing in the coming time, the Center for Disease Control of Tay Ninh province recommends that people proactively prevent dengue fever by eliminating mosquito breeding grounds, periodically killing Agency tung tung stones and going to medical facilities as soon as there are suspicious symptoms for timely diagnosis and treatment, avoiding serious complications or the risk of death. At the same time, health agencies monitor outbreaks and detect early cases.
