On October 20, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health issued a decision to establish an inspection team to organize a comprehensive inspection of Ba Ria General Hospital (headquartered in Tam Long Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), led by Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Hong Chuong.
The inspection team will conduct an inspection of contents related to organization and personnel work; financial and accounting work, bidding, purchasing of medical equipment, construction, and basic repair; and especially professional work in medical examination and treatment.
At the same time, check the contents related to pharmaceutical work; registration of personnel for practice; work of receiving citizens, handling complaints, denunciations, recommendations, reflections; preventing and combating corruption, negativity, waste; the implementation of conclusions of competent authorities... from January 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025.
Some contents and incidents arising before or after the inspection period, if necessary, the team will still conduct an inspection to clarify.
In the coming time, the team will work with Ba Ria General Hospital to announce the inspection decision, with an inspection period expected to take place within 30 days. The inspection results will be reported to the Director of the Department of Health; and advising and proposing measures to handle and rectify violations and limitations during operation.
Recently, articles have appeared on social networks about the shortcomings of Ba Ria General Hospital in the process of implementing emergency care for a victim of a traffic accident, leading to his subsequent death.
Immediately afterwards, Ba Ria General Hospital organized an initial review and provided official information. Through inspection, the hospital found that the information posted on the above Facebook page was inaccurate, affecting the reputation and professional operations of the hospital. At the same time, the unit also held a meeting of the Professional Council to determine the cause of death, review the procedures for receiving, emergency care and treating patients according to the direction of the Department of Health.
