According to the Khanh Hoa Center for Disease Control (CDC), the number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases has increased sharply since April. In May alone, 376 cases were recorded.
Currently, the whole province has nearly 1,190 cases, exceeding the 5-year average (2020-2024) but still within the epidemic warning threshold.
The whole province recorded 22 outbreaks. Of which, 5 outbreaks appeared in kindergartens and family groups.
Regarding dengue fever, the whole province recorded more than 3,440 cases with 175 outbreaks. Of which, 127 outbreaks have been controlled.
Measles also had a worrying development with more than 2,290 cases of suspected measles rash fever, of which 88 cases identified as measles - a sudden increase compared to the same period in 2024, when no confirmed cases were recorded.
Most measles patients are children under 15 years old who have not been vaccinated. In addition, the whole province of Khanh Hoa recorded 77 cases of Covid-19.
Some other infectious diseases decreased sharply compared to the same period in 2024, such as: Diarrhea decreased by 35.4%, encephalitis Japan and hepatitis C no cases were recorded, hepatitis B decreased by 21.5%, malaria decreased by 75%.
According to the representative of CDC Khanh Hoa, since the beginning of the year, the center has implemented epidemic prevention and control plans; vaccination in the expanded immunization program, measles prevention campaign; monitoring and supporting the handling of dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles outbreaks... to control and prevent outbreaks.
