On June 22, leaders of the Department of Health of Lam Dong province confirmed that they had issued an urgent notice to temporarily suspend the entire process of recruiting public employees in 2026 at affiliated public service units and commune, ward, and special zone health stations in the province.
According to Ms. Huynh Thi Phuong Duyen - Director of Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health, the temporary suspension of recruitment does not affect the medical examination and treatment activities and professional work of the industry.
While waiting for official recruitment, public health units are still allowed to sign labor contracts for professional and nghiệp vụ positions to ensure regular operations.
Immediately after competent authorities complete the assignment of civil servant staff in 2026, the health sector will continue to implement recruitment work according to regulations," Ms. Duyen said.

Previously, the Department of Health issued Plan No. 701/KH-SYT dated June 10 and Notice No. 713/TB-SYT dated June 11 on recruiting public employees in 2026.
According to the plan, the health sector is expected to recruit 738 targets, including 529 targets at non-business units under the Department of Health and 209 targets at commune, ward, and special zone health stations. Application submission period is from June 15 to July 14.
However, after nearly a week of implementation, the Department of Health decided to temporarily suspend the entire recruitment process as proposed by the Department of Home Affairs to review and update the staffing situation.
According to research, the reason stems from the staff adjustment in 2026. The total staff assigned to Lam Dong province is 67,174 targets, a decrease of 2,772 civil servants and 4,523 public employees compared to the previously temporarily assigned number.
The temporary suspension of recruitment is to ensure that the selection work is carried out in accordance with regulations, avoiding problems related to staffing quotas and protecting the rights of candidates registering for recruitment.
Recruitment work will be resumed after the competent authority completes the allocation and official handover of staff to the health sector.
