Smoking can affect male fertility

Smoking is a major cause of decreased sperm quality and erectile dysfunction.

The rate of smoking is constantly increasing and is more common in men. For men, cigarette smoke also greatly affects physiological problems.

Cigarette smoke affects the Leydig hormone factory. This reduces the amount of testosterone in the body, causing men to lose their desire and their “masculinity”.

The toxic components will enter the blood vessels through the smoking process, causing atherosclerosis and narrowing of the blood vessels. This limits blood circulation to other parts of the body including the penis.

Toxins in cigarette smoke cause a decrease in the quantity and quality of male sperm. Smoking during the period of sperm “development” will cause negative changes in quantity and quality. Sperm shape is deformed, tailless, and immobile. The quantity can be reduced by up to 23% compared to non-smoking men.

It is easy to see the negative effects of tobacco on male sexual function. These effects will occur slowly and cause you to encounter many dangerous problems.

Erectile dysfunction caused by smoking is quite common. Accordingly, the proportion of men who smoke with erectile dysfunction is quite large. The more you smoke, the higher your risk of this condition. This number can reach 60% for people who regularly smoke more than 20 cigarettes/day.

Quitting smoking is necessary to overcome the harmful effects of smoking on male physiological functions. When the body is no longer affected by smoking, it will gradually recover. Male sperm will be produced continuously and take 3 months to mature.
