On June 9, Nghe An Department of Health announced that it had issued Official Letter No. 2335/SYT-ATTP requesting affiliated units to strengthen inspection, supervision and strictly handle violations of food safety in the area.
This move is made in the context of the situation of food safety violations still having complicated potential, especially during peak times such as summer and festivals.
The Department of Health recommends that localities promote communication in diverse forms, suitable for each target group. At the same time, focus on guiding food service businesses to ensure food safety conditions, strictly control the origin of raw materials, processing, transportation, three-step food inspection, and food sample storage.

Along with that, localities are required to proactively coordinate in implementing peak periods to fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods in the food sector.
The Department of Health also requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to direct functional departments and units to strengthen inspections of food production and trading establishments, and strictly handle violations according to current decrees such as Decree 115/2018/ND-CP, Decree 124/2021/ND-CP and Decree 117/2020/ND-CP.
In addition, local health centers are assigned to monitor and implement food poisoning prevention solutions, organize investigations, trace the origin and test when incidents occur.
Nghe An Department of Health emphasized: ensuring food safety is an inter-sectoral responsibility, requiring the synchronous participation of the entire political system to protect people's health.
