The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund received the donation with the desire to contribute more resources to help people soon rebuild their lives when the storm and flood passed.

In the past 2.5 months (from July 22 to present), Vietnam has had to respond to 9 consecutive storms, of which 5 storms (3, 5, 9, 10, 11) directly affected our mainland, especially storms No. 10 and No. 11, causing historic floods, serious damage to people and property, affecting economic growth.

According to the summary report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, since the beginning of the year, natural disasters have left 238 people dead and missing, 367 people injured; over 258,000 houses were damaged, roofs blown off...

The total estimated economic damage is over VND 33,500 billion. In the flood caused by storm No. 11 alone, preliminary statistics have so far shown that 15 people have died and gone missing, 7 people are injured; over 16,900 houses were flooded (concentrated in Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son and Hanoi).

"A piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", with the spirit of mutual love that has always been a beautiful image of the Vietnamese people, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund has called on domestic and foreign philanthropists to join hands to share with people affected by floods to have food, clothing, shelter, students with books to go to school...

Responding to that call, on the afternoon of October 10, at the headquarters of Lao Dong Newspaper, Kaopiz Holdings Joint Stock Company presented 100,000,000 VND in support with the desire to contribute more resources to help people in provinces and cities soon rebuild their lives when the flood has passed.

Speaking at the support awarding ceremony, Mr. Dang Van Hien - Deputy General Director of Kaopiz Holdings - said: "This is the sentiment of the Kaopiz collective towards localities heavily affected by the recent storm No. 10 and storm No. 11.

Kaopiz hopes to spread the spirit of humanity and community sharing to everyone, while contributing to reducing some of the difficulties for people affected by this storm and flood".

At the same time, they expressed their condolences to the families who lost loved ones and shared with the households that suffered property damage caused by the storms.

Previously, the enterprise donated 100 million VND to support people affected by storm No. 3 Yagi; contributed nearly 500 million VND to build new classrooms and IT rooms for students in Lang Son, Yen Bai, Thanh Hoa and Da Nang; and has been accompanying the "Nuoi Em" project for 5 consecutive years with a total sponsorship of 470 million VND, contributing to bringing warm meals and complete learning opportunities to children in the highlands.

Mr. Hien also said that all expenses for these activities are partly taken from the company budget and the sharing and joint support of all Kaopiz officers and employees.

Receiving the donation, Ms. Phan Thu Thuy - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, Permanent Deputy Director of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - thanked the company for its timely support, hoping that the unit would directly participate in accompanying charity activities in the coming time.

Ms. Phan Thu Thuy respectfully sent her deep gratitude to the joint efforts of agencies, collectives, businesses, individuals, and philanthropists, each person wholeheartedly sharing and giving gifts of food and clothes with the desire to send through the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund to the people of the provinces that have been heavily affected by storms overlapping floods in recent days.

"In a very short period of time, we have received the attention and support of benefactors, economic groups, as well as domestic agencies, departments, branches, and organizations and overseas Vietnamese" - Ms. Phan Thu Thuy shared.

Ms. Phan Thu Thuy said that the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund continues to promote mobilization and calling for support for affected people, promptly allocate to localities, urge and inspect the transfer of funds to people in disaster-affected areas, ensuring timeliness and efficiency.
