In the afternoon of September 21, exchanging with Lao Dong reporters, Ms. Vu Thi Kim Anh (31 years old, residing in Tien Lang commune, Hai Phong, union member of HHP Global Co., Ltd.) said that it has been exactly 3 months since the labor accident occurred, the physical and mental pain is still lingering.
Before the accident, Ms. Kim Anh had worked for more than 1 year at HHP Global Co., Ltd. as a warehouse keeper for finished goods, the company's Logistics Department. On June 21, Ms. Kim Anh was inspecting the warehouse of finished goods when a truck reversed and hit her right leg, causing serious injuries.
Immediately after that, Ms. Kim Anh was taken by colleagues to Tien Lang Medical Center for emergency treatment and transferred to Viet Duc Hospital due to serious injuries. According to the medical record, Ms. Kim Anh suffered from peeled skin on the right ankle, open fracture of the ankle, open ankle dislocation, closed fracture of the lower 1/3 of the tibia and peeled skin on the right thigh.
Severe injuries caused her to undergo many surgeries, face prolonged pain and the treatment journey has not known the end date.
Nearly 3 months of treatment, travel is still a challenge for Ms. Kim Anh. Temporarily leaving her husband and two young children, she has to return to her maternal hometown in Hung Yen to have relatives take care of her. Behind the surgeries and bandage changes are worries about treatment costs, family life and the days when she cannot return to work.
Her husband is also a worker, with limited income, while his two young children are of school age. Although the company has supported hospital fees, the treatment of complex and prolonged injuries still adds burden to the family.
At the end of September, Ms. Kim Anh continued to prepare for the surgery to remove the ankle nail and knee skin patch. What she longed for most was not something big, but that the surgery would go smoothly, the wound would recover soon so that she could return to her small house, be with her husband and two children.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Chairwoman of Tien Lang Commune Trade Union - said that through grasping the situation from the grassroots trade union, the Commune Trade Union is proposing to the upper-level Trade Union to consider supporting union member Vu Thi Kim Anh. At the same time, the Commune Trade Union hopes that philanthropists will join hands to help female workers who unfortunately encountered labor accidents.
