What do you fans of tennis expect from the women's singles final of Wimbledon 2026? The presence of defending champion Iga Swiatek? Current world No. 1 player, Aryna Sabalenka? Beautiful No. 2 seed from Kazakhstan, Elena Rybakyna? Or Mirra Andreeva, the recent Roland Garros champion?
None of them went further than the 4th round. In total, 32 women's singles seeds, now 2 are Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova - 2 players from the Czech Republic.
Interestingly, they are ranked 9th and 10th respectively, for the Wimbledon 2026 women's singles final, as people often say, "one 9, one 10".
Noskova did not care much about tennis when she was a child, until she witnessed her compatriot Petra Kvitova win the Wimbledon final in 2011.
That was probably one of the first moments I realized that there is a sport called tennis that exists in this world," the 21-year-old tennis player shared.
Surely there will be more children in the Czech Republic watching the screen attentively on Saturday (July 11), when this country will surely have another champion in their rich heritage golden board at Wimbledon.
Noskova defeated Marta Kostyuk in the semi-finals to set up a final against compatriot Muchova, who defeated Coco Gauff in the remaining semi-final.
Meaning that within 4 years, the Czech Republic will have 3 female tennis players crowned at All England Club, after Marketa Vondrousova in 2023 and Barbora Krejcikova in 2024.
Up to this point, it has become a tradition," Noskova said.
Before them, this country had Petra Kvitova – champion in 2011 and 2014, the late tennis player Jana Novotna in 1998, and of course, it is impossible not to mention "grass court queen" Martina Navratilova – who won the first singles title in her 9-time championship record as a Czech Republic player in 1978, before entering US citizenship later.

We have a very great history of Czech tennis," Muchova expressed. "When I was young and looked up at my seniors – who could only be about 5 years older than me, I saw them play so well. That added faith that I could also do it. It inspired me in that way.
Legend Navratilova will watch the final from the Royal Box, where she is a regular visitor.
I can relax and just enjoy it," Navratilova said, "The Czech female tennis players are really showing their weight at Wimbledon. This is so great to the point of madness".
The recent semi-finals marked the first time both Muchova and Noskova played on the Central court.
They are close friends of each other, who have paired in the doubles event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. But tonight, they will have to put that aside.
This will be the second Grand Slam final for world No. 9 player Muchova, after she lost to Iga Swiatek at the 2023 French Open.
As for Noskova, 21 years old, she had never passed the 4th round at Wimbledon before, and her best Grand Slam result was reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open 2024.
The Wimbledon 2026 women's singles final between Muchova and Noskova takes place at 10 pm on July 11 (Vietnam time).
