The tournament is organized by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province and Nam Long Group from June 15 to 21 at the Tennis Court Complex in the integrated metropolitan Waterpoint (Tay Ninh), gathering more than 100 outstanding athletes from 8 leading tennis units nationwide.
Entering the tournament as No. 3 seeds, Nguyen Minh Phat and Tran Quoc Cuong, in their first time competing together in a national tournament for professional players, showed impressive form along with modern, fast-paced and effective attacking play. On the journey to conquer the championship, the young duo continuously overcame many strong opponents to advance to the final match.
In the semi-final considered the "early final" of the tournament, the pair Minh Phat and Quoc Cuong (AP Sports) created a convincing performance against the No. 2 seed pair Tran Tien Thinh and Tu Le Khanh Duy (Army). With explosive play, harmonious combinations and complete dominance on the court, Minh Phat and Quoc Cuong only took two sets to close the match with a score difference of 6-2, 6-0, thereby proudly winning a ticket to the final.
In the final match, the two young players continued to show excellent form when facing the pair Nguyen Dai Khanh and Doan Ngo Ba Kiet. With superior net area control, accurate team coordination and smart strategy, Minh Phat and Quoc Cuong won convincingly with a score of 6-1, 7-6, thereby winning the men's doubles event.

This title becomes even more special as this is the first time Nguyen Minh Phat and Tran Quoc Cuong have played together in a national tournament. However, for those who follow Vietnamese youth tennis, the good coordination of this duo is not surprising.
The two have been attached since their early days in the U10 age groups, together training, competing and growing through many youth tournaments in the country. The long-standing companion platform helps Minh Phat and Quoc Cuong understand each other's strengths, creating a natural connection in tactics as well as the ability to support teammates on the field.
According to the assessment of many experts and experts, the AP Sports duo is fully converging the factors to become the "network king couple" of the new generation of Vietnamese tennis. Possessing modern technique, flexible movement ability, good tactical thinking and fiery fighting spirit, Minh Phat and Quoc Cuong are expected to become one of the leading men's pairs of Vietnamese tennis today.
For Nguyen Minh Phat personally, this is the second national men's doubles championship title in his career. Meanwhile, Tran Quoc Cuong has stepped onto the highest podium in a national tournament for the first time, marking an important milestone in the development journey of this promising young player.
After the success at VTF Pro Tour 200 – Nam Long Cup 2026, Nguyen Minh Phat and Tran Quoc Cuong will continue to accompany each other at the National Men's and Women's Tennis Championship – Vietravel Cup 2026 taking place from June 22 to 28 at the Tennis Court Complex in the integrated urban area of Waterpoint (Tay Ninh). With their current form and increasingly complete cohesion, the AP Sports duo is aiming to defend the national men's doubles championship, while affirming their position as a leading pair in Vietnamese tennis.
